If you have two different systems, or accidentally bought the wrong sensor or receiver, you'll need to know which unit belongs to which set. We've put together this guide to show you how to determine which model sensor or receiver you have.

Guardline 1/4 mile model (GL5000)

Receiver (GL5020)

The receiver for the 1/4 mile will have the numbers 1 - 4 on the face, but there are NO circles around the numbers.

Notice how the receiver face on the GL5020 lists the numbers 1 through 4, with NO circles around the numbers.

Finding the product identifier tag

You can find the product identifier tag on the battery cover on the back of the receiver.  To find it:

  • Turn the receiver around so you are looking at the battery cover
  • Locate the white sticker with the Guardline logo and technical information
  • On or near that sticker is a smaller sticker with 5 letters/numbers
  • These 5 characters are the product identifier tag for that receiver

Sensor (GL5010)

The sensor for the 1/4 mile is fairly easy to distinguish. All sensors for the 1/4 mile version are green.

The GL5010 is easily distinguished as it is our only green sensor.

Finding the product identifier tag

You can find the product identifier tag for the sensor above the dipswitches inside the sensor's battery compartment.  To find it:

  • Unscrew all 4 screws on the front of the sensor (don't loose the screws!)
  • Turn the sensor around so you are looking at the battery compartment. The dipswitches should be above the batteries.
  • Just above the dipswitches on the inside of the sensor body there is a small white sticker with 5 letters/numbers.
  • The 5 characters on this sticker are the product identifier tag for that sensor.

Guardline 500' model (GL2000)

Receiver (GL2020)

The receiver for the 500' version will have the numbers 1 - 4 on the face and these numbers will all have circles around them.

The 500' receiver (GL2020) is distinguished by the numbers 1-4 on the face of the receiver with circles around the numbers

Sensor (GL2010)

The sensor for the 500' model is easily distinguished by it's color.  All sensors for the 500' model are brown/tan in color.

The GL5010 sensor can easily be identified by it's tan brown color
