Hi. This is Devin with Guardline Security, and today we’re going to talk about setting up your Dakota Alert 2500 Series Driveway Alarm.

Now, the Dakota Alert Driveway Alarm is paired straight from the factory, so the only step that’s required to get it up and running is to power both of the components. The receiver is powered with an included power adapter which plugs in at the base of the unit, and your sensor is powered with a 9-volt battery. To install the battery, you need to remove the four screws on the back of the sensor, remove the front plate, and then install the 9-volt battery in the battery compartment here.

You’ll notice that your driveway alarm has four different zones, each of which has a separate melody. Now, if you wish to change the zone or melody, you can do so by adjusting the settings in your sensor. Inside the sensor, there are ten dip switches. Dip switches nine and ten can be adjusted according to the user’s manual to choose a different zone or melody. Setup is that simple.

Now, the last step is you want to test your sensor, and if you hear this signal on your receiver, then your driveway alarm is ready for use.

Thanks for watching. Once again this is Devin with Guardline Security, and if you have any questions or comments, please reach out to us at
