Best of Guardline: January Monthly Roundup

Is it 2020 already? We hit the ground running after the holidays, answering your questions, taking your calls, and finding a little time to have some fun.

It’s hard to believe we’re already a month into the New Year, but time flies when you’re working hard and having fun. Here’s what we’ve been up to…

Taking Time to Unwind

It’s no secret Guardline is a small company. We’re really more like a family than coworkers. We were so busy during the holidays that we had to push our holiday party to January. (We really don’t need an excuse to eat too much and share some drinks.)

New Year, New Snacks

Let’s talk about what really happens behind the scenes at Guardline: Simon and his snacks. This month he is obsessed with chicharrones. The five bags he brought to the office have magically disappeared. (Tip: Dip them in Tapatio for a life-changing experience. You’re welcome.)

Best Customer Comments of the Month

There’s never been a dull moment since introducing our new instant chat feature on our website...

We all need a little magic in our lives, Clinton. (Just don’t tell anyone that we’re actually elves, ok?)

“Clear instructions. Easy to set up. I love the flexibility of being able to add additional sensors with different warning tones so that I know which area is being triggered. The green color disappears on the side of the driveway. The best part is that the thing actually works.” –Daryl

Hey Daryl, we’re stoked that you’re stoked. You made our day.

Brrrrr, Joe! We’re thrilled to see your sensor is still working. Are you bundled up?

And check out this review by YouTube enthusiast Dad Dare, a.k.a Cody Axthelm…

Hey, Cody, we’re big fans of your dance moves! Let us address some of your concerns:

  • With any PIR infrared system, you can experience interference. Causes are heavily wooded areas or thick interiors that are metal or concrete. It’s an annoying problem, but we have a lot of troubleshooting tips on our YouTube page, which you can access here.
  • If you’re getting any unwanted alarms, such as snow or falling tree branches, you might want to adjust your distance sensitivity to decrease your sensor’s sensitivity to movement. You can learn more about how to do this here.

Favorite Tech Tip

Did you know that you can connect more than just a receiver to your Guardline sensor? Strobe lights, sirens, and speakers can all be linked to activate when someone crosses your sensor. In this short video, Joanna and Thomas show you how to quickly and easily connect a 12v relay or external device to your Guardline system. Watch the video here.

In case you missed it...

The New Year can be a great time to reflect on the past year and make plans to thrive in the coming one. We can take the stress and pressure out of the big bad “New Year’s Resolution” and make a plan we’ll actually stick to. Check out 5 Ways to Make a New Year’s Resolution You’ll Keep.

This year, like every year, we continue our commitment to superior products and dedicated American-based customer support. Have any questions about our products? We’re always here to help.

Until next time, be safe…

Can I just use a 1/4 mile with my 500 feet and who do I order just motion sensor?

Hi Eddie, great question! Unfortunately, our 1/4 mile is not compatible with our 500ft system because they run on different frequencies. If you’re looking to order an individual sensor you can order them here: https://www.guardlinesecurity.com/collections/accessories-and-batteries
