Best of Guardline: October Monthly Roundup

October has been a busy month at Guardline. We’ve been taking your calls, answering your questions, and working hard to bring you America’s #1 outdoor motion sensor. But we always find some time to have a little fun. Here’s what we’ve been up to...

Our warehouse manager, David (above), decided to dress up as his favorite energy drink one day. He seemed to have super-human energy and got twice as much done. We’re thinking of making it our new company uniform.

Joanna Answers Your Questions

For Halloween this year, Joanna showed you how to add lights to your receiver, either to come on inside a jack-o-lantern or your house when someone triggers the sensor. It’s a festive way to be alerted to visitors entering your property and is perfect for the holiday season.

You can also connect Christmas lights, either inside or outside, to come on as well. Here’s how to connect your system to lights in the video below.

In case you missed it...

In our top blog post this month, we discuss how to protect your property while traveling. This is the time of year when we make plans to visit family and loved ones for the holidays, so it’s important to be aware of key things you can do to protect your home, property, and belongings while you’re away. We want to help you be as safe and informed as possible. If you missed it, check it out here.

Funniest customer engagements of the month:

We love our customers so much. You always surprise us and make us laugh. We wanted to share a few of our funnier customer moments.

In our last monthly roundup, we showed you how one of our employees, Simon, dressed up as Sasquatch to surprise the office. Well, it seems that one of our customers has reported a Sasquatch sighting, triggered by her Guardline outdoor motion sensor. We’ve asked Simon to account for his whereabouts when this sighting happened, and so far he’s a suspect…

How about this message:

Subject line: You will not believe this one. My receiver is possessed!

This can only happen to me. I was sitting at my kitchen table and hear music I think to myself did I leave the TV on in the bedroom this morning, I walk upstairs and my receiver is playing a Christmas tone. I'm like WTH. None of the other receivers are making a sound. Ok. Maybe I set one of the sensors to it and didn't realize it. Easy fix I put batteries in it and walk around my yard checking all the sensors and went around a couple of times and think maybe a sensor is set for 2 tones? Is this possible? None of them play a Christmas tone. Pretty funny. Love them and just wanted to share this.

So, apparently, a ghost who loves Christmas music was haunting one of our customers. We couldn’t believe it either but read her email above for yourself. (We suggested she be on her best behavior in case it’s Santa checking to see if she’s been naughty or nice.)

Our favorite Guardline review of the month:

“Great security system, performance is great, easy to install, YouTube videos very clear and easy to understand. I had a small issue (I lost 2 of the tiny screws) I called and talked to Joanna at customer service…she was very pleasant and understanding and shipped some out to me. Days later I had a question and talked to Simon and he solved it quickly. Very nice people. I highly recommend GUARDLINE.” – Harold G.

Harold, you’re the wind beneath our wings. It’s truly a pleasure to serve all our customers, and we love it when you take a minute to let us know how we’re doing.

How a Guardline collaborator protects her kids from their pool:

Our Guardline collaborator When Crazy Meets Exhaustion loves her pool and claims to love floating with her inflatable unicorn with a cold drink. (Hey, no judgment here.) But with small kids nearby, she was stressing about how to keep the kids away when playing on their own. She found her peace of mind with a Guardline outdoor motion sensor that lets her know when kids are entering the pool area so she can intervene. No more heart palpitations for her! Read her full story here.

If I had one concern, it would be that when one would have to change the batteries in the transmitter, it would be easer….I live in Michigan, and in the winter, when it’s really cold, taking out the four small screws, it will be trouble….
Thanks for listening….Really like it so far….
