Excellent devices....they really help us out at our theatre
We purchased an initial 4 units of the Chamberlain 1000 ft. Wireless intercoms to use in our community theatre building. Our dressing rooms are spread around and our stage managers were getting tired of yelling at the top of their lungs. I installed the 4 units and they no longer have to yell. The quality is sufficient for everyone to hear and understand. In fact, we bought 2 more for additional locations.
our apt.is1,000 sz.with 2 walls between stations would like one for outside on porch, is it weather proof?
Hi Jim, this set is not weather proof, but the outdoor intercoms on our site are.
How do I get into the unit to replace the batteries?
There is a black piece of plastic on the bottom of the unit. When the unit is held with the bottom facing you and print is upright, this piece of plastic slides to the right.
How is service inside those , I have a 2500 sq. Foot home , will it work throughout the house.
This system is rated to work at 1000 ft with no interference and a clean line of sight. That said, any solid objects in between the two units (walls, trees etc.) are going to detract from the maximum usable range. In a 2500 sq ft home, I imagine that the two units would not be further that 200 ft apart. In this case, I believe the intercoms would perform very well.
I am looking at a master intercom station along with three other intercom units in three separate rooms. The longest distance to a room is 150 feet. It needs to be two way. All of them will not be speaking at one time. There are several Sheetrock walls. Any suggestions? Thank you.
My suggestion is the Dakota 4-mile Intercom Bundle. It comes with four units, has awesome channel customization options, and should have enough signal strength to get through that wall. Search item number "DK4000".
I want to communicate between my house and my workshop. Current system has a lot of interference because of the machines, creates noises which renders the intercom useless. Will interference be a problem with your system?
Solid object interference is unfortunately going to detract from the max usable range of any wireless system. These intercoms generally perform well with solid interference. The answer to this question is that interference will always be an issue, so the best you can do is get a system that has enough range to compensate for the amount of interference present.
