Our best driveway alarm for perimeter protection. Covers any area up to 300' wide
Elimate false alarms - sensors have 3 separate beams - all of which must be broken in order to set off the alarm.
Was needing a driveway alert that covered a 400 plus foot driveway with trees in the line of sight. To top that off we are in a metal building. After going through a couple of the magnetic type alerts and those failing after about six months and alerts were "iffy", we went with the BBT-2500. Set up was not difficult, but took about an hour and a half which included setting up the posts. There was some on-the-job adjustments to the direction that I had to do. For example when setting up on the post clamps, I changed the side the screw went in because the screw and nut was pushing against the post causing some difficulty. If you playing with it a little, depending on your circumstances, it will work. Also found that during the beam adjustment, the power light is very difficult to see during full sunlight. Right now I'm giving it a 5, time will tell if it stays that way.
THE UNIT WAS AS ADVERTISED AND MUCH EASIER TO INSTALL THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. THE ONLY THING I CAN SEE THAT MIGHT BE IMPROVED IS A BUILT IN TIMER FOR THE RECEIVER TO TURN OFF AND ON WHEN NEEDED. I LIVE IN THE KEYS IN FLORIDA AND EXPECT TO BE GONE FOR 3-5 MONTHS FROM TIME TO TIME AND ASK WOULD IT BE BETTER TO LEAVE THE UNIT SET UP OR TAKE IT DOWN AND PUT INSIDE FOR THE ABSENCE. MY NEXT QUESTION IS DOES THE UNIT EVER RUNDOWN ON THE SOLAR BATTERIES AND HOW DO I DEAL WITH THIS SITUATION, SAY IF THE SENSORS WERE PUT INSIDE OUT OF THE SUNSHINE DURING A LONGER ABSENCE OR IN ANY CASE WHAT DO I DO IF THE BATTERIES WEAR DOWN FROM LACK OF ENOUGH SUNSHINE FOR WHATEVER REASON. THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE IN THIS MATTER............JIM PLATT

Works as advertised
I have had several other driveway alerts and was not very satisfied with any of them because of false alarms. The Dakota Reflective Beam alarm works great with no false alarms. Pretty easy to install. Used heavy duty velcro to attach to my fence so it could easily be repositioned to align the beams.
Can the Dakota 2500 be paired with a camera and app that notifies me (via app) when the beam is broken? Also triggers the camera to start recording? Thanks. Mike
The receiver portion of that unit does have a relay which can be used to function with external devices. As long as the camera system could be hardwired to the receiving unit indoors, that should work.
