So far so good. Of course we have an issue with nocturnal animals! lol I will say that the set up was a little confusing. I did call in to figure it out and I appreciate how easily you talked me through it. As I said...so far so good. I like it and would recommend it!
I have been using "knock offs" in the perimeter alarms dept. This is very well worth the extra expense. Check back in a year... If it is still performing, as , I, think it will be.... I will be definite in a updated review!!
Does this alarm sense when a person crosses the beam? Or only cars? How is the reciever powered? How is the sensor powered?
HI Mark! The sensor detects heat movement so people and cars trigger it! The receiver has a power cord that plugs into the wall for power. It also has a place for four AAA batteries as a backup power source. The sensor uses four AA batteries.
In some of your photos, I notice the sensor has a little roof...does that come with the sensor?
Yes it does!
12 to 15 degree viewing radius, What exactly does that look like on paper. This needs a diagram as to what this looks like out in the yard ?
The sensor has either a 9 or 12 degree wide viewing angle. At 40' in front of the sensor, this would cover an area 6' wide (9 degrees) or 10 feet wide (12 degrees).
Your specs say that it works down to -4 degrees F. If it goes below that does it need to be brought inside or can it just stay outside and it just won't work? What do you advise to do with the unit for extremely cold weather below -4?
Hi Alissa, the sensor can work below that temperature - just make sure you are using lithium batteries in it. We have plenty of happy customers up in Alaska using our Guardline driveway alarm!
Can a sensor be added to the base unit to not allow the alarm from going off (vehicle leaving)?
You can add up to 16 sensors to one receiver. The sensors can easily capture traffic from cars entering or leaving your driveway.
